Karen Kingsbury Book Delayed
Tyndale House Publishers have announced that publication of Sunset, the last title in the Baxter Family series has been delayed until September 2008 due to the death of the author's father. In a statement they said "The loss of her father is something that could not have been anticipated. Karen has been working diligently to finish Sunset. But we wanted to extend to her additional time to rest and reflect in this season of her life and to finish the book at a slower pace. We are confident her fans will support her and eagerly anticipate the release. Sunset is going to be a special book - one well worth the wait. The book will be available everywhere on 23rd September 2008." Karen also said on her website, "This week my friends at Tyndale Publishers granted me a gift. They extended my deadline for Sunset - the final book in the Sunrise Series - and moved the publication date from April 22, 2008, to September 23, 2008. The reason? They wanted to show compassion and understanding toward me because of the time I've spent grieving the loss of my dad. Let me explain." Another new title from Karen, This Side of Heaven, which releases in July 2008 is a tribute to her brother who passed away in his sleep two years ago. 06.03.07
Bookshop of the Year
Ards Evangelical Bookshop are delighted to have been presented with the award of Large Retailer of the Year 2007 at the annual nationwide Christian Bookseller's Convention. It is the third time that we have been shortlisted for the award. "We are delighted to receive this award and feel it is but a recognition of the dedication and hard work of our staff providing a service to the Christian community. This service would not be possible without the interest and commitment of local church leaders and Christian workers." - Richard McCoubrey, Manager. In 2007 we at Ards Evangelical Bookshop celebrated our 40th anniversary, having been established in 1967. The McCoubrey family took up the reigns in 1980 and have built it up from 600 sq. ft. to the present location in Frances Street which gives our customers over 5000 sq. ft. to enjoy. Our internet and mail order business continues to expand and we have recently moved into publishing, releasing a novel in 2005, and our Two Version Bible in 2008. |
